LOCKDOWN LIVE

LOCKDOWN LIVE

The unsung torch-bearers of India’s rich cultural legacy have always struggled to make ends meet. The COVID-19 pandemic, however, has brought about an unprecedented situation. The lockdowns and the rules of social distancing have affected everyone, from big business to small tea stalls, and the artistes — folk musicians, artisans and craftsmen — have been among the hardest hit. And it is the plight of these indigenous artistes that Prabha Khaitan Foundation has been trying to bring to highlight and heal. Prabha Khaitan Foundation has always been dedicated to the overall development of the social, cultural, welfare and humanitarian aspects of Indian society. Prabha Khaitan Foundation made a humble attempt to provide a few with direct financial benefits during this crisis by starting Lockdown Live, a series of online events in Bihar, Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan & West Bengal. The artist performs live virtually and we provide an honorarium from our Foundation. There have been about 250 such sessions already and over 2000 artists have been benefited.
